Week 4 - Giant Sequoia (Sequoia giganteum) FD6

The Giant Sequoia or the Sequoia giganteum is an extremely tall tree from the Cupressaceae family. The tree is really tall and also can get really wide, up to 25 feet. The leaves are scale like and the tree has hard cones with winged seeds inside. The tee is native to the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California and is adapted to be very fire resistant, which is especially helpful for the tree because the fire seasons in California are getting longer each year.
