Week 3 - Pacific Yew (Taxus brevifolia) FD4

The Pacific Yew is a threatened native species in the Pacific Northwest Coastal region from the Taxaceae family. The small shrub has flat needles and has a single seed surrounded by a red cup. An ecological adaptation of the plant is the vegetative reproduction after a disturbance. Another really interesting thing about this tree is its used in a lot of cancer treatments.
