Week 3 - Witch-Hazel (Hamamelis) FD3


The Witch-hazel or gunis, Hamamelis, is a shrub or small tree from the Hamamelidaceae family. The genus has a couple species with native ranges varying from China to Eastern North America. An identifying feature of the tree are the yellow/orange colored petals and a small fuzzy fruit with two seeds. An ecological adaptation of the genus is the plants are able to vegetatively reproduce through suckers or stolons.
