Week 4 - Coastal Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) FD6

The Coastal Redwood or Sequoia sempervirens from the Supressaceae family is a tall endangered evergreen tree native to Coastal California and Southern Oregon found at lower elevations. The tree has thick red-brown bark and dark green leaves with cones on the female trees. An adaptation of the tree is to be able to capture fog water and drip it from its leaves to the roots. An interesting part of this tree is its extremely long lifespan, around 2,000 to 3,000 years.
