Week 5 - Dove Tree (Davidia involucrata) FD7

The Dove tree or Davidia involucrate from the Nyssaceae family is a deciduous tree from native woodlands in Central and Southern China. The tree has chordate leaves with long- petioles and has flowers red-purple flower heads and nuts with a green fleshy outer. The tree is adapted to fight off herbivores by the tannins in the plant which blocks the predator's protein and interrupts DNA transcription and repair.
