Week 7 - Dawn redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides) FD 11

 

The Dawn Redwood or the Metasequoia glyptostroboides is a large deciduous tree from the Cupressaceae family. The tree is native to South eastern China in moist conditions and stream valleys. The tree has an open opposite branching structure and has light green linear leaves. An adaptation of the tree is its tolerance to a variety of conditions, including clay soil and periodic flooding.
