Pacific Madrone is an evergreen tree from the Ericaceae family. The tree is native to British Columbia down to California, and west of the Cascades in Washington. The tree has white urn shaped flowers and red warty drupes. An ecological adaptaion of the tree is the ability to live in low nutrient and drought conditions because of a large and productive root system.
