The Sitka Willow or Salix sitchensis
is a small tree from the Salicaceae family that has alternate entire margin leaves.
The tree is native from Alaska to California and east into Idaho and prefers habitats
of moist woods and marshes. The tree has flat leaves that are bright on the
upper side and hairy and lighter on the underside. Some ecological adaptations
are being extremely adapted to wetland conditions.
