The Ponderosa Pine is an evergreen tree from the Pinaceae family. The tree is native to the West Coast from British Columbia to Mexico and as far over as Dakotas. The tree has needle bundles in 3s and has chocolate brown cones. The Ponderosa Pine has adapted to have quick seedling establishment and seeds germinate the spring after they stratify in the winter.
