Week 9 - Quaking Aspen (Populus tremuloides) FD15

 

 The Quaking Aspen or the Populus tremuloides is a small tree from the Salicaceae family. The tree is native to Western and Northern North America, from Alaska to the East Coast going as south as about Colorado. The tree has flag cordate leaves, has catkins and does't grow much taller than 25 feet. The Quaking Aspen is extremely adapted to fire and can regrow rapidly after a disturbance.
