Western Red Cedar from the Cupressaceae family is a tall, fast growing tree found in wet conditions from Alaska to Northern California. The tree has a yellow green color on the leaves and reddish brown to gray bark. An ecological adaptation of the tree is the poisonous wood to protect against bacterial, fungal and insect predation.
